Holistic Therapies

The holistic approach to health differs from the conventional medical approach in that it takes into account the the person as a 'whole' and his or her environment, rather than just focusing on the symptom or the part of the body that has the problem.

The body has an energy system that protects it from disease and allows it to heal, called the immune system. When the balance and energy of the immune system is disturbed, the body reacts by producing symptoms of dis-ease. Holistic therapies aim to help the patient restore this essential balance, encouraging the body to heal itself naturally - just like nature intended.

Stress

Stress in our lives is a every day factor for most of us, however at times we experience more stress or just feel tired and run down and this begins to effect our overall wellbeing and health.  Left untreated this can become a much more serious problem with long-term effects mentally, physically and socially.

It is important to recognise the effects of stress, what this can do to our bodies and when you need to make more time for yourself.  We can discuss ways to do this including breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, diet and nutrition along with any treatment.
